About Taiba

Taiba, is in the state of Ceará, which means “Terra do Sol”. You can expect tropical sunshine for 300 days per year, ocean water temperature between 23°C and 27°C, and a good constant wind for kite/wind surfing between June and December each year.

Taiba is approximately 1hr to 1hr15 min drive by car from Fortaleza’s Pinto Martins International airport and 30 min from Cumbuco. Taiba is divided into an “old part” and a “new part” called Taiba Nova. Taiba Nova is only 5 min away from the “older” part of Taiba. The area attracts kitesurfers, surfers, and windsurfers from all over the world but despite this, Taiba remains a charming undeveloped fishing village boasting annual festivals which attract many people from nearby villages and Fortaleza.
